Normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) can increase utilization of organs donated after circulatory death, but implementation varies across U.S. organ procurement organizations (OPOs). Interviews with 20 OPO executives revealed inconsistent hospital acceptance, protocols, data collection, donor-family disclosure, and training. The study concludes that standardized procedures, proactive education, transparency, and cross-organizational collaboration may improve NRP implementation and trust.
